CQ GoldRush660 is one of the premier 4-wheel vehicle drag racing events held at Benaraby Dragway, running twice each year (May and October long weekends) and attracting competitors and spectators from across the region.
Making its inaugural debut on 2 May 2026, the event featured more than 50 vehicles competing across five racing Classes, with a combined prize pool of $7,800.
As an ⅛-mile, Indexed Pro-Tree racing event, CQ GoldRush660 delivers fast-paced, side-by-side action that keeps the racing close to the crowd and easy to follow – making it an exciting and highly engaging spectator experience.

Faster than 6.37 E.T. requires a Tech
A red light results in an automatic loss
Breakout (running quicker than your Index E.T.) is a loss in Racing (unless the other person red lights)
Dual red light = first racer to red light loses
Dual breakout = racer who breaks out by the greater margin loses
Racing Format – Chicago Shootout:
Racers in each Class compete in three (3) x Qualifying Rounds, three (3) x non-elimination Racing Rounds, and one (1) x Final.
GoldRush Shootout
The five (5) Class Winners go head-to-head in an elimination style shootout. A random chip draw is used to determine first round pairings. Bye runs must stage and accept tree under their own power for a Win. Pairing ladder as follows
Cost to Nominate:
$200 per entry ($50 per entry goes into the bonus class pot)
Prize Money:
A minimum PRIZE POOL of $5,250 guaranteed PLUS the bonus Class pot.
